Ibiza Cathedral was begun in the fourteenth century, originally in Gothic style. But because further reforms passed in the eighteenth century Baroque style.

In 1235, Guillem de Montgrí and his troops, promised that if conquered Ibiza build a temple, and so began to build what is now known as The Cathedral of Ibiza. The promise also said that the temple would be dedicated to the Virgin closer to the day of the conquest, it was for Santa Maria La Mayor.

Simple and sober Ibiza Cathedral was built probably on the basis of a primitive temple. Today we can appreciate the mixture of styles.
