The archbishop of Tarragona Guillem de Montgrí led the attack, accompanied by the nobles Nunó Sanç and Pedro de Portugal. The conquest was successful and the island was divided into four districts, called "quartons." Then, they established the parish of Santa Maria that would result in the present Cathedral of Ibiza.
